I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus This is it, the apocalypse Nepeta grinned as she signed off of pesterchum and grabbed the slip of paper she had used to write down Karkat's address. She hopped up and ran to her mother, nearly slipping on her rear. Waxed floors and socks really didn't mix she deducted as she hand the piece of paper to her mother who nodded and told her to get ready if she planned to come with. "But mooom! I'm already dressed," she replied as her mother turned. "Oh, you dressed yes? Good then get in the car." Her mother said in her best english. Nepeta smiled, she was doing better. Nepeta put on some black knee high boots, fixing the sleeves of her jacket. It wasn't her normal one but still a kitty one, with even cat paws on the bottom. It was definitely her favorite jacket besides her regular blue cat eared jacket. She finished zipping up her boots and carefully walked out to the hall way and down the elevator, where her mother was already there. Wow was she fast! Nepeta hummed as the elevator came to a halt at their designated spot and she followed her mother to their black Corolla. Nepeta hopped into the passenger seat as her mother implanted the directions into her GPS then backed out of the garage for the residents of the condo Nepeta resided in. It took them quite a while but they found got to his home, Nepeta rolled down the windows and looked around for her friend. "Remempurr mom! Don't embarrass me too much!" she stated, she didn't want to have her first friend over to be creeped out or have jokes. She knew those stories of mothers sharing embarrassing baby pictures to guests! Nepeta had to find that forbidden stash and hide that for sure in case her mother finds some friends as well. HE WHO WRITES IN BLOOD AND APHORISMS DOES NOT WANT TO BE READ, Karkat quickly exited out of the chat window, his jaw tightening a bit with nervousness. This would be the first time he actually went over a school friend's house since, well, he met Sollux. In fact, Karkat couldn't remember a time when he had gone over a classmate's house in general, let alone for such a ridiculous reason as to copy down a notebook. They could have easily done this in the morning before class, Karkat didn't have to go over there. Now he was going to have to go through awkward introduction with Nepeta's mother, the awkward ride over there, and then feel obligated to stay after he'd copy the notebook. After all, going over there to copy notes and then leaving after they went through all this trouble to pick him up would be rude. Karkat may have a foul mouth, but he knew when going too far is going too far.
God, Past him was such a motherfucking idiot.
But, there was nothing Karkat could do about it now. Nepeta was coming to pick him up. His fate has been sealed. Even though Karkat had tried to keep it calm on pesterchum, mentally he was freaking the fuck out. Karkat had no experience with social situations outside of the internet--he had always tried to stay as far away from people as he could--and he especially had no experience with social interactions involving...girls. This was whole outing was going to end in a mindfucking disaster, he just knew it.
A low ping broke Karkat from his thoughts, his attention snapping toward a blinking chat window. Oh, right, he had been talking to Sollux. After leaving his best friend a long winded rant on how much of a fuck up he felt, he demanded that Sollux keep his phone on and by him in case something especially dreadful happened. Sollux gave him the usual dismissive agreement, to which Karkat replied with a prompt 'fuck you,' before logging out of Pesterchum altogether.
It took Karkat a couple more minutes than usual to figure out what to wear (what do people wear when they hang out with classmates?) Eventually he decided to 'fuck all this shit to hell' and chose to slip on one of his Cancer Tees, a pair of faded jeans, and his usual black zip-up hoodie. He quickly picked up his bag and took out everything but his World History materials. It didn't hurt to bring his textbook along just in case they actually decided to get the homework done as well. Karkat was almost done with it anyways, but he could never be too careful. With a brief pause, Karkat wondered if he should bring some movies, as well. Was that an appropriate thing to do, or would that be too weird? Deciding that he was probably thinking about it too much, Karkat grabbed a couple of his favorite movies and stuffed them to the bottom of the bag. Bringing them didn't mean he had to pull them out, after all.
After swinging the strap of his bag over his shoulder and checking his person to make sure he still had his keys and phone in his pocket, Karkat slipped into his worn gray sneakers and rushed out the door. He vaguely registered his father calling out after him as he rushed down the hallway. The young teen told his dad was going downstairs to get picked up and slipped out the door before his father could probe him for more answers. Unfortunately, he bounded down the three flights of stairs a little too quickly and reached the front of the dingy apartment building early. With a sigh, Karkat plopped down on the front steps of the building, waiting for Nepeta's mom's car to come into view.
It suddenly occurred to him that he should have probably should have asked what kind of car Nepeta's mom drove.

I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus This is it, the apocalypse Nepeta hummed as she looked out for Karkat, spotting him she stuck half of her body out of the window. "Karkat! Hi Karkat!!" she exclaims loudly, waving her hands about. The excited teen nearly fell out from the window and on to her face, but quick reflexes quickly avoided this disaster. Nepeta merely laughed and giggled. "Wow that was a close one!" she said to herself as her mothers face eased, concern melting away. "Oh so this is your friend?" Her mother asks in her native language as Nepeta turned and slipped her upper half back in the car once he spotted and walks over to them. "He sure is!" she replied back in Korean as her mother chuckles. "What a cute boy," she remarks, giving her daughter a wink as Nepeta wailed a small "mmmoooomm!!" with a cherry red face and flailing sleeves. She tried to force her blush down. "Okay, mom. This is Karkat, he's a furiend furom school!" she said, her cheeks puffed out. Her mother laughed and turned her head a bit to look at Karkat. It was evident that Nepeta took after her mother in the face department. "Hello Karkat. My name is Sun-Yung. Nice to meet you!" Her mother gave him a grin and held out her hand as Nepeta hummed. After their introduction, Nepeta crawled to the back seat with some quiet protest from her mother in hushed Korean. Nepeta gives her mother a sheepish grin before turning to Karkat. "So do you got efurrything you need?" she asks. I raise my flags, don my clothes It's a revolution, I suppose

HE WHO WRITES IN BLOOD AND APHORISMS DOES NOT WANT TO BE READ, Karkat's leg shook with impatience as he waited for Nepeta to come and pick him up. He leaned his cheek in the palm of his hand as his other hand fiddle with the strap of his backpack. Yeah, he had definitely arrived downstairs too early. Now he was going to look like an eager idiot. Fucking fantastic, way to make a first impression Karkat.
"Karkat! Hi Karkat!!" The excited greeting broke Karkat from his thoughts, head snapping up in attention just in time to see Nepeta almost fall face first out of the car window. Out of reflex, Karkat shot up from the stairs with wide eyes, intending to run over there and catch her if he had to, but the green-eyed girl skillfully caught herself. Karkat immediately stopped himself, blinking at her with a raised brow.
"Wow that was a close one!" At that Karkat relaxed, his eyes rolling at her usual overly-hyper antics. "'Close one' is a fucking understatement," Karkat pointed out, his arms crossing over his chest, "You almost ate a face-full of concrete. Can you do anything without almost killing yourself?" He eyed her carefully, mentally making sure that she didn't do something stupid and fall out of the car again, "You must be the goddamn luckiest girl on Earth."
Karkat stood by the steps awkwardly as Nepeta and her mother exchanged some words in what Karkat assumed was Korean. He made sure to look anywhere else but the two as they talked so he wouldn't look like he was ease dropping. He wondered if this was what non-Spanish speakers felt like when they watched he and his father go at it? Well, either way, if Ms. Leijon was speaking to her daughter in Korean, obviously it was meant to be private. Karkat didn't doubt that they were talking about him--her mother probably thought he was a hoodlum.
"mmmoooomm!!" Once again, Nepeta's voice broke Karkat from his thoughts. With a small sigh and a shake of head, Karkat reached down and picked up his bag, deciding that he wasn't even going to ask. Honestly, Karkat made the weirdest friends. He hoisted the bag over his shoulder before finally heading toward the car, trying to not look as nervous as he felt.
"Hello Karkat. My name is Sun-Yung. Nice to meet you!" Huh, well, she seemed nice enough. Though not really returning the smile, Karkat reached out and and gave the woman's hand a firm shake through the window. "Nice to meet you, too, Ms. Leijon," Karkat replied politely, his usual annoyed and fustrated tone replaced with a respectful one, "Thank you for the ride, I really appreciate it."

I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus This is it, the apocalypse Nepeta flashed him a grin at his comment. "'Close one' is a fucking understatement. You almost ate a face-full of concrete. Can you do anything without almost killing yourself?" She gave the angry teen a pout. "Yeah I can! I'm furry careful, if I wasn't I would be here right now," she stated, her grin coming back. The girl then slipped herself back into the car as he began walking to them. "Thank you for the ride, I really appreciate it." Her mother laughed and waved her hand dismissively. Oh no! It is least I can do for Nepeta's friend." She continued to smile. "Do not be shy, you can get in the car." Nepeta giggled as she heard the tone change to a more respectful one. "Don't worry about food either, my mom was going to order something. Anything you want a taste for?" she asked Karkat as she glanced at him, idly playing with her sleeves. "We have snacks too since my mom knows how much I just looooove sweets!" Nepeta giggled again as Sun-Yung gave a small chuckle. "Yes, but walking in middle of night should not be time for sweets." Her mother smirked as Nepeta blinked. "You hear that?" she asks in slight disbelief as Sun-Yung laughed again. I raise my flags, don my clothes It's a revolution, I suppose

HE WHO WRITES IN BLOOD AND APHORISMS DOES NOT WANT TO BE READ, "Yeah I can! I'm furry careful, if I wasn't I would be here right now." He carefully raise a brow at her, arms still crossed. "Says the girl that almost fell out a fucking window," Karkat replied, not buying it one bit, "You don't actually have nine lives, you know. One of these days fortune is going to stop smiling down on you and decide to shit down a torrent of crap on you're ass, then what?" In reality, Karkat knew he shouldn't be so concerned about his classmate hurting herself. Despite the fact that Nepeta had proven more than once just how clumsy she was, Nepeta almost always managed to save herself in the nick of time. She had a nack for it, and was surprisingly agile for a girl who couldn't run up the stairs without falling backwards on her ass. It was pretty impressive, to say the least. However, he couldn't really stop himself from worrying. Being dismissive of potentially dangerous situations was just asking for the asshole gods watching over them to prove Nepeta wrong.
"Oh no! It is least I can do for Nepeta's friend. Do not be shy, you can get in the car." Well, that was not what Karkat had expected. Ms. Leijon hadn't given him a strange look or commented on his filthy language--it was weird as hell. At least now he had a good idea of where Nepeta got it from. "Uh, right. Thanks." Karkat answered hesitantly, not sure how to respond to Ms. Leijon's cheery demeanor. Wait, hadn't he already thanked her? Shit, he was really bad at this social thing. Grimacing at himself for a brief moment, Karkat opened the door and slipped into the backseat of the car, letting his bag plop down on the floor by his feet.
His face reverted back into it's usual tired expression before turning to Nepeta as talked began to talk about food and sweets. At her first question, Karkat shrugged. "I couldn't care less if we ate at a five star restaurant filled with prissy asswipes who only act nice to trick us into spending more money or a shitty McDonald's smack dab in the middle of two rival gang territories."
"As long as it doesn't taste like crap I'm fine," he professed, glancing back at her, "So, whatever you want to eat is good enough for me."
At the second question, Karkat's mouth twitched up into the tiniest of smirks. "I don't know," he played along, "Sounded like the wind to me." The Hispanic teen would never admit it, but he did have quite the soft spot for sweets. If Nepeta really did have some of the stuff lying around her house, she could be damned sure that Karkat would eat it.
Karkat let himself relax slightly. Alright, this wasn't so bad; maybe this day wouldn't turn into as much of a disaster as he originally thought. Though, there was still plenty time for him to fuck something up. He always fucked something up.

I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus This is it, the apocalypse Nepeta drummed her fingers along to a song as they began to drive out of Karkat's neighborhood. "This is going to be so much fun!" she laughed, glancing at Karkat in the rear view mirror. "Well, my mom can get some Panda Express, if you don't mind that." She replied as her olive green eyes glanced back down in front of her. Sure enough, her mother pulled up to Panda Express, asking both of the teens for their orders. Once drove up to a drive-thru and began to order. She handed the bags of food on Nepeta's lap, who was nearly drooling at the smell of the food that wafted into the car. "Mmmm.. I can't wait to eat this!" Nepeta exclaimed and giggled. It didn't take long for them to get to her condo. As soon as her mother parked the car, Nepeta unlocked the door and flew out. "Pchooo!!" she ran inside and in the elevator, pressing the open door button to keep the doors open for Karkat and Ms. Leijon. The girl, like usually was nearly bouncing with energy but avoided to do so with the food in her arms. Once they were inside she pressed the floor number she lived on. It only took a few seconds before they were up and she ran out again. Ms. Leijon chuckling as she walks a much slower pace and unlocked the door. "Please make yourself home, Karkat." she replied, smiling at him. Nepeta had already ran inside and placed the bag on the table. "Food food food!" was what the two can hear her chant out. Inside was a nice cozy home. It was quite artistic looking, considering her mother was a fashion designer and Nepeta herself loved to draw. Infact, if someone looked around they would find one of her finished drawings somewhere in every room of the condo. I raise my flags, don my clothes It's a revolution, I suppose
